Scott Macpherson

'My favorite thing about volunteering is giving back to the community.'

Scott is consistent and dependable. He's a giver -- concerned for those who have struggles and determined to make it less so.

Scott's journey with Stone Soup Café began after connecting with “Steve the Hippie” during Monte’s fundraiser for the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts last year. Scott felt inspired to become a volunteer driver, delivering meals to those in need every Saturday since December 2023.

Scott's favorite part of volunteering? Giving back to the community and witnessing the gratitude of those receiving meals. As he shares, "One person called me an earth angel, and that, in itself, is very heartwarming." Scott has already volunteered over 30 hours of his time to the Café this year. WOW!

Beyond his volunteer work, Scott enjoys skiing, biking, and water sports. Originally from Rochester, NY, Scott has called our area home since the late 1980s after studying in Boston.
