Steve the Hippie hails from Miami, Florida.
He has a degree in Marxist Political Economy from Florida State University and was assistant director of the Center for Participant Education, whose mottos were "Don't let your schooling get in the way of your education." and "Anybody can teach and anybody can learn."
A long-time member of the Rainbow Family of Living Light and attendee at many Rainbow Gatherings, Steve spent 10 years on the road freely sharing food our of Everybody's Kitchen Bus that, an industrial kitchen on wheels, traveling to Washington D.C., Philadelphia, New York, Minneapolis, Detroit, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and many other cities and towns along the way.
He's lived in Gill for over 15 years. He co-parents a 22 year old daughter currently matriculating at Mount Holyoke College and Steve couldn't be prouder.
Steve believes that "Freely sharing food is one of the most politically revolutionary acts one can do. All food should be free!" His participation at the Cafe comes from wanting to put his past experience with food to work and because sharing food, "makes us a community of people."
