Fundraising and Marketing Intern

Timeline: 10 weeks, Tuesday, June 12 to Saturday, Aug 22

Hours: 20 hrs per week (hybrid – approximately 50% on-site)

Location: Stone Soup Café, 399 Main Street, Greenfield, MA

Supervisor: Jansyn Thaw, Director of Fundraising and Marketing

About Us

Stone Soup Café (SSC) is a 501 (c) (3) organization serving the residents of Franklin County from our location at the All Souls Church in downtown Greenfield. It is the mission of Stone Soup Café: “To create community space where all are welcome to share nourishment, connection, and learning for body, mind, and spirit.” The two central programs at Stone Soup are our Pay What You Can Saturday Meal and Everybody’s Community Store.

Job Summary

We are offering a paid internship opportunity for a student who wants to use their skills to support community-centered work while gaining hands-on experience in fundraising, event planning, and marketing.

The Fundraising and Marketing Intern will work closely with the Director of Fundraising and Marketing to support communications, outreach, and fundraising efforts, with a particular focus on our annual Harvest Supper event on Saturday, August 22nd.

This role is responsible for building and expanding awareness, engaging the public, and attracting new donor audiences. The intern will support fundraising campaigns, build business relationships, secure sponsorships, and promote events.

Responsibilities

Event & Fundraising Support

  • Support marketing and planning for the annual Harvest Supper

  • Assist with sponsorship outreach and tracking

  • Create and schedule social media campaigns (catering, events, community programs)

  • Contribute to newsletters and communications

  • Help strengthen overall marketing systems and messaging

Marketing & Communications

  • Assist in refreshing and strengthening overall marketing efforts

  • Create and schedule social media content for programs such as catering, events, and community initiatives

  • Support storytelling through newsletters.

  • Help maintain consistent, welcoming messaging across platforms

  • Brainstorm efforts to reach new audiences and strengthen existing relationships

  • Sunday, June 14, 2026 - Volunteer Appreciation Event

  • Saturday, August 22, 2026 - Harvest Supper

Learning Opportunities

Qualifications

  • A rising junior or senior majoring in marketing or a related field

  • Interest in marketing, communications, or fundraising

  • Strong writing and communication skills

  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects

  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively

  • Comfortable engaging with community members and business owners
