Delivering Nourishment, Discovering Community

< Thoughts to Chew On Blog Series >

Stone Soup meals reach 120 households each week via our Meal Delivery program. Meal delivery accounts for about half the meals we cook on any given Saturday. Delivering meals requires the help of 15 volunteers each week, who each pick up a dozen custom meal orders at the Café and deliver them all over Franklin County, sometimes driving 25 miles in one shift.

We asked a volunteer driver, Jorie Morgan, to share why meal delivery fits Stone Soup's mission "to create community space where all are welcome to share nourishment, connection, and learning for body, mind, and spirit." As Jorie shares in their piece below, meal delivery is not just about providing food—it’s about expanding our circles of connection and care, and rediscovering what it means to belong.
